Scientific Lectures and Outreach Programmes:
The institute organizes talks and seminars regularly on different occasions. Some of the recent speakers include Prof Bernard Lucas Feringa, Nobel Laureate, University of Groningen, The Netherlands who delivered the Raman Memorial Lecture; Prof Ashoke Sen, FRS delivered the AK Raychaudhuri Memorial Lecture; Dr Craig L Hall, US Consul General, Kolkata, delivered the Tagore Memorial Lecture; Prof Peter Young, University of California, Santa Cruz, USA delivered Rajendralal Mitra
Professorship Lecture, to name a few.
Every year the students and faculty members
participate in various outreach activities and scientific exhibitions such as the Indian National Exhibition-cum-Fair 2019,
and India International Science Festival (IISF) 2019. Along with these, the students also organize interactive learning sessions in different schools
in rural Bengal to spread better awareness among masses. IACS organizes the summer school programmes on basic sciences for school-leaving students every year to attract bright students in the field of study and research in basic sciences. Every year, IACS holds popular lectures and scientific talks for school and college-going students on the Foundation Day and the National Science Day.
International Symposia and Conferences: IACS hosts national and international conferences every year, which are attended by both emerging and pioneering leaders in their respective fields. •
