MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
Cartographic Innovations for the Visually Impaired: Unique cartographic Innovations for the Visually Impaired:
Braille maps for the visually impaired
have been prepared; a effort that reveals the organisation’s social commitment. This project has received wide appreciation.
Setting-up of of NATMO Data Centre using state of art technology and hosting of NATMO geoportal https://geoportal.natmo.gov.in to provide OGC complaint map services to all users spread across the internet.
Golden Map Services (GMS) and District Planning Map Series (DPMS): District Planning Map Series (DPMS), a unique project, envisaged and executed by NATMO, has received much popularity and appreciation. Under this project the entire country is being mapped in 1:250,000 scale. The project with a minimum of ten most essential thematic inputs, which are shown as inset in small scale, serves as a ready reckoner for planners, administrators and for general public as well.
Golden Map Services (GMS), a flagship project
of NATMO, was launched during the organisation’s golden jubilee celebrations on 16 February 2007. GMS is the most ambitious project of NATMO, which has been designed to provide attached quarry oriented database in integrated (spatial & attribute data) GIS environment for planners, administrators, researchers and common users.
