      IMPORTANT SCHEMES
The centre is offering the following schemes to the region:
Technology Outreach and Service Scheme (TOSS): An umbrella scheme to
establish linkages
with individuals
and institutions
to deliver
technology
solutions to the
NE region.
Bamboo
Applications and Support Scheme (BAANS): A scheme
to undertake support measures under public private partnership mode (PPP) in various areas.
Bamboo blinds being made
the proposed dam to join the proposed Mahanadi- Rushikulya-Godavari link (M-G link) project.
Crop Analysis Projects Undertaken for Insurance Companies: Remote sensing technology based agricultural crop mapping productivity estimation and damage assessment analysis was done using Multispectral High Resolution Satellite data, Drone, hand-held GPS, sample of crop under consideration, and past CCE data for 6 private crop insurance companies.
SUCCESS STORIES
Merchandise Support: NECTAR, as erstwhile NMBA, has supported 16 bamboo board manufacturing units out of which 9 are in the north-eastern states. NECTAR had taken twin initiatives to support these units, by creating linkages with raw material and major markets.
Intervention in Disaster Relief: NECTAR, as erstwhile NMBA, constructed double wall bamboo prefabricated housing structures suitable for -30°C, in Ladakh including main town area of Leh, on around 60,000 sqft of land left ravaged by the
flood of August 2010, which now houses more than 10,000 people.
Education GIS Analysis: NECTAR has conducted neighbourhood Mapping & GIS analysis of different categories of schools (primary, upper primary, secondary and senior secondary) using 3D Digital Terrain Model in Assam and Manipur. The centre assisted State’s Education Department (SSA) in establishing new schools in areas of un-served population based on norms of Government of India’s 'Right to Education' programme.
Agriculture Projects using RST Technology:
NECTAR has accomplished a technology outreach programme by conducting a scientific study on damage analysis of potato crop due to unseasonal rainfall during February 2019 in West Bengal under ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)’ using Remote Sensing Technology (RST).
High-Speed Wireless Mesh Networks: Wireless mesh network was established at 9 locations with 36 IP-based surveillance cameras in Guwahati and 120 cameras in Shillong city. •
