To serve professionals in building and institutionalizing engineering and technological excellence in education, research and industry in India and support advancement of the engineering profession globally.
OBJECTIVES
• Promote and advance the best practices of engineering and technology in India and application to solution to national challenges.
• Institute and establish Professorships, Fellowships, Studentships, Scholarships, Awards, etc.
• Disseminate information on ‘Engineering’ and encourage, assist and extend knowledge and information.
• Promote and safeguard academic and professional interest in ‘Engineers’.
• Provide an association of eminent ‘Engineers’.
• Promote the National Policy on Education of the Government of India.
• Assist the Government of India and All India Council of Technical Education in the planning and formulating of education policies.
• Offer the Government of India, the Local Governments the views of ‘Engineers’.

from the activities are forwarded as
inputs for policy formulation to the
concerned agencies, which have been well-received and, in many cases, implemented.
SUCCESS STORIES
Research Study on Recycling of Automotive Waste: At the behest of PSA to the Government
of India, INAE undertook a research study
on ‘Recycling of Automotive Waste’. The recommendations emanating from the research study were submitted to the office of PSA, Government of India and further submitted by PSA to the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change as inputs for formulation of the National Policy. A pilot plant has been set up in Chennai based on the findings of the study.
Initiative in Regional Transport Aircraft (RTA):
INAE took an initiative towards the development of Regional Civil Aircraft in the country in year 2016, by organizing a roundtable meet with stakeholders from HAL, CSIR-NAL, ADA-DRDO and other major industries. The outcome was the actionable recommendations, particularly setting up of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for undertaking the development of RTA in the country. Subsequently, Engineer’s Conclave was organized in 2017 at CSIR- NAL on this topic. The recommendations were taken up for discussion by NITI Aayog and have been accepted.
