Bushfire Crisis
Agricultural Shows Australia, representing all Agricultural Societies and Shows across Australia, would like to extend our thoughts and sympathies to all the rural communities affected by these devastating bushfires.
We acknowledge and support the herculean work of all the firefighters, emergency services and volunteers who have selflessly battled to protect homes, buildings, land and stock, and to provide and assist the many thousands of people affected by the bushfires.
Agricultural Societies are an integral part of most rural communities and understand
the importance and necessity
of working together to provide support for the many people losing their homes and livelihoods. This is exemplified
by the use of many Showgrounds across the country for emergency support relief.
We hope that our rural communities can remain safe during these difficult and dangerous times and that the brave men and women who
are risking their lives to protect families, homes and property, can safely return to their families and to their communities.

the conflict, it’s how you manage it” – Catherine Gillespie, Workplace Conflict Resolution
“Biosecurity is real. There is opportunity for real action. Inaction is costly” – Melinee Leather, 2019 Biosecurity Producer of the Year.
“The smaller the organisation, the more important it is to have a budget” – Brock Gilmour, RAS of NSW
“Aim to serve and success will follow” – Geoff Bush, ASC of NSW
And finally – the most common statement of the conference “this is the way we’ve always done it”. “You need lots and lots of ideas to have a good idea. And the worst thing to do is to extinguish someone’s one idea as they won’t bring another” – Geoff Smith RAS of New Zealand.
