Mick Brophy
Mick was a villain but a good one he was a big brash loud man with a big smile and a
big heart , in his lifetime he’s done it all from selling cars to underwater welding but he was always a showman at heart , he has been a bit of a larrikin and could always earn
a quid one way or another but he was also a generous soul he would give you half of his last dollar if you needed it and buy you a beer with the other half, in his travels he eventually made it to Cooktown and while up at the lookout he looked out over the tiny north Qld town and said
“ this is where I want to die and have my ashes scatted over this sea “ And on the 15 th of September he got his wish.

Voice of the Church
We are coming to the end of another year and are For some who
going to celebrate another Christmas.
Christmas celebration is the assurance that God was with us in Jesus and became a gift for ALL people, and God is with us in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
This is the fundamental reason for the Festive Season, which seems to be hijacked by other secular claims and most Australians come together on Christmas time and this festive season is the context of “the special” the giving and receiving of gifts, the feast, the Christmas carols and service, the party mood and so on.
For others, Christmas day memories of friendship are accompanied by loss and grief.
, may make the Christmas worship service their one church visit for the year, perhaps just to be back with family and old friends, the story of Jesus’ birth and is still familiar, a mixture of fantasy and faith.
Christmas time is a time for peace and no matter what religious background you belong it’s a time when we all should come together to celebrate this wonderful festive season; it’s all up to you to make this decision.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Dr. Barry K. Fletcher Circus and Showman Chaplain
