   I couldn’t eat another thing’.
She had immaculate taste in jewellery and clothes and always had a modern upbeat style when out at a function.
Pat loved a social event and getting out especially in her later years. If you turned up to take her out to dinner, she’d say that’s great I don’t get out much; only to hear that earlier in the same week she had most likely been out on a trip to the circus or casino with 2 or more other people on different occasions. Hence her famous saying which the family thought was hilarious “don’t let your left hand, know what your right hands doing”.
Patricia’s independence was one of her most treasured possessions and her family and close friends meant the world to her. It would be fair to say if you were family, there was
no special treatment, and you were treated as an equal on all levels.
She was a staunch ally to her family and friends but if you were going to war against her make sure you had your crash helmet on because she
was certainly a worthy adversary.
Patricia was always grateful for a visit, and she loved everyone’s company. She always made time for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Although she may not have always agreed with their ideas or certain ways, she loved and cared for them all. She loved a catch up with the girls and a nice glass of Moscato or a McDonalds coffee frappe or a cream cake of any description.
In the year 2009 Patricia lost her soul mate, Dougie Roberts who had lost
his battle to cancer. Then in 2011, her daughter Mareeka passed away; another special piece of her heart was broken, and she missed them dearly every day.
In 2012 Pat suffered a life changing massive stroke that left her unable to walk or talk and her sheer strength, resilience, and heart, helped her fight hard to regain her independence, her speech, and the ability to walk again – an amazing show
of character after so much heartache.
A loyal mother, kind, yet fire and brimstone also.
If you saw Pat coming up the road with her Daytona scooter you’d better watch out, as she made her own road rules, and kept everyone who went for a walk with her fit, as you had to jog along beside her, unless you were brave enough to
go for a ride on the scooter with her and she did often encourage it.
Patricia enjoyed her trips to Geelong with Michelle and Brad’s family and also her annual Cairns holidays with John, Ilee and the kids, and the time she got to spend
at Leonie and Lew’s home in Oxenford.
Amongst the million moments Patricia’s family will miss, they will also miss the sound of her scooter reversing to a constant beep beep beep and the ABC television blaring in the background as you chatted.... Pat was pretty black and white and there were no real grey areas.
She was loved, she was respected by her family, and she will be missed dearly as she returns to the arms of her loved ones.
In loving memory of their mother, Marekka (dec), Leonie Osborne, Michelle Verfurth, and John Roberts.
