friends of our Industry
A big hello to all showmen, show societies and friends of our industry,
SHOW CANCELLED, is what is being written and reported all over social media and printed media all over our great country.
This pandemic has certainly devastated our industry and the families that rely on it to earn a living. Mass gatherings and the like still seem to be a distant memory and at the moment look like may not get the go ahead for the foreseeable future.
The federal government have made the decisions to cancel easy for the show societies as they have been given a considerable compensation payout to cancel, this situation has resulted in our loss of trade, not only Showmen but also itinerant traders and the like.
I get there is a worldwide health crisis and don’t profess to hold any answers, just am caught up in the hopelessness of the crisis.
This won’t end until a vaccine is found or selfish, stupid people do the right thing and follow all protocols to keep the virus at bay.
I send kudos to the showmen who have found a way to trade and trust that the COVID plans they have put in place are adhered to as always our industry will be scrutinised more than most others.
In closing I hope everyone stays safe, and we can all get back to life on the road ASAP.
