A big hello to all showmen, show societies and
friends of our industry,
The autumn show run has now completed and the festival season in Adelaide now over also.
The winter is upon us which means we are now reduced to the odd corporate hire or school function
for the next couple of months and time to pick up the paint brushes to give our attractions a spruce up in anticipation of the new season.
It’s not the best situation when shows we have been supporting for many years reduce the area in the guild area by a few positions due to the planting of trees and park benches costing members the sites they have traded at for generations of a family when approached in an official manner the answer we get is it’s not our doing as the council own the park and just
let us hold our show here I always respond with if they held a meeting where all stakeholders were consulted and given input there could have been a better outcome for all sadly it happens from time to time.
The mystery in the Gods office here still remains just that, a mystery. With no news either way on the liberation of South Australian show industry and the relationship with Showmen’s Guild members and the particular officials’ interpretations.
