its 150th Annual Show and we are hoping that it will be one of our best and biggest ever.
Our show will have over 400 dogs competing in a very picturesque setting, a yarding of about 100 sheep, a penning of about the same number of birds in the heritage poultry pavilion and about 250 horses on the main arena.
We are very proud of our Hall of Flowers, in what for the rest of the year is the town’s Table
Tennis Centre. Our Homecrafts and Photograph pavilions are shared during the Year with the Football and Netball Club in the new multi-purpose facility opened in 2016. Each year
on Show Day the Agricultural Society enjoys the support of other sporting, cultural and service groups of Daylesford.
While the main focus of our last 149 shows has been improvement through competition and we hope to
produce a schedule that has something for all creative souls; animal lovers and
fruit, flower and vegetable growers. We will entertain our visitors with music, food and wine under the trees. The Showmen’s Guild of Australia will provide popular carnival attractions, just as they have provided for most of those 149 previous carnivals.
If you only see one country show this year, make
sure it is Daylesford’s.
