Stardust Circus
Back in Sydney, after a South Coast- Canberra run, Stardust Circus was on home turf.
So as winter hit the Southern Hemisphere, some 30 or so packed up their boardies and sunscreen, and went luxury cruising in the South Pacific. Just closed the show and took off!
A few weeks and no one-nighters - not that Stardust ever did one-nighters.
Old-time circus tragics couldn’t believe it, but that’s the way the new circus generation play it. Old- timers admit they’re jealous!
Hudson’s Circus
They said it.....
They said nobody could run three shows at once. For the moment, Shane Lennon’s managing it. So, Australian circus people are saying, “Give him a go. He’s having a go.”
Bobby’s last laugh
International clown The Incredible Bobby (Paul Harsnyi), has died after a long illness,
age unknown, on 18th April.
He had been in poor health, in
palliative care for two years, in Hammersley Hospital, Perth, WA, after a series of strokes, but had been in ill health for more than six years.
Originally orphaned in Hungary, he subsequently lived in Sweden, England, and Australia, but was unable ever to discover his birth details.
In England he married Jane, with whom he shared two Australian children, Kassie, and Laszlo, both now WA residents and parents.
As a full-makeup traditional clown, Bobby, he performed at Robert Bros’ Circus (England), Sole Bros, Great Moscow, Royale, Alberto’s, Eden Bros, Brophy’s, and other circuses (Australia and NZ) and in circuses in America.
His very distinctive character created wide-spread respect, fans, friends, and acquaintances and was at one stage arguably country Australia’s best-known clown.

Bobby also worked his own trackless trains, retail stalls (stock joints) and clowning on many Australian showgrounds.
He was cremated privately, as per his wishes, leaving happy, vivid memories to audiences and fellow performers around many parts of the globe.
