In the heart of May, on a sunlit day, Where blossoms danced and skies were gray, A girl named Nellie came into the light, With dreams as vast as stars in flight.
Born to Jim and Ruby’s loving embrace, She grew up in the show van’s bustling space, Where life was a journey, ceaseless and bright, With six siblings by her side, from morning to night.
Through Queensland and New South Wales’ wide expanse, ln agricultural shows, they’d twirl and dance, Nellie, with grace, excelled in the fray, Her spirit as vivid as the light of day.
At twenty years, in a romance so sweet, She met Edward, her heart’s true beat, In Brisbane, their vows
to the fabulous matriarch of her family and the wider community.
The honours andtribute arrived from far and wide !
Memories and moments shared by the family are a true testament to the life of a Wife, Mother, Mother in Law, Grandmother, Aunty
and just a great, woman.

were tenderly made, A love story in the sunlight’s cascade.
With Eddie and Shane, her family grew, In the rhythm of shows, their bond only knew, The joy of life, with children in tow, Through schooling and dreams, they watched them grow.
Grandchildren, Edward and Jade, brought more light, Nellie’s heart soared in their laughter and might, Known simply as ‘Nellie,’ with affection so pure, Her love was a beacon, steadfast and sure.
In food vans where magic took shape, Hot dogs and fairy floss, a tasty escape, Her hands kept the van pristine and neat, A labour of love, a community treat.
Ruby, her mother, with grace ran the show, While Laurence, her father, let fortune flow, Together they crafted a legacy grand, With Nellie’s fierce spirit at the heart of the band.

Your legacy and memories will be shared and valued always.
A straight talker, with a presence so bold, In the showman’s world, her stories are told, A witty chatter on the CB’s bright line, Driving truckies wild, in its rhythm and rhyme.
Every Monday, a call from Carol was near, A tradition of friendship, now treasured and dear, At Caboolture Showgrounds, her final stage set,
Where her spirit’s warm glow will never forget.
As we bid farewell, with heavy hearts we say,
Nellie’s vibrant spirit has found its way, In memories cherished, in laughter and light, Her legacy endures, as bright as the night.
