Dear Members
and Friends of the
Show Industry
I am very happy to report on some of the success of a couple of shows that have been on in the last five or six weeks.
Firstly, the “EKKA”.
Everyone that I spoke to during and after reported that they had a very good Show.
Attendances were up, and the Amusement area seemed to be packed every day. All seemed pleased with the end results.
After the Ekka was the Special Day for Special Kids.
A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers that made this day such a great day for the ‘Special needs Kids,’
I don’t have the room on this page to name them, but we are ever so grateful for your giving us this day.
The rides, games, and food that was put up for just a few hours, also gratefully recognised.
I would love to see different members donating their equipment and time for the next Kids Day – 2020.
Then on to the Gold Coast Show; after weeks and months of meetings with Council and Show Society, we finally achieved the result that we were hoping for.
May I congratulate the Delegates of the SGA for their hard work attending meetings at a moments notice, and for putting forward all their ideas to both the Society and Council.
Your support and endeavours are to be congratulated and appreciated.
Lew Osborne, Michael Wood, Gary Johnson, Luke Chambers, Jesse McDonald and Tyrone Miller and John Roberts, and last but certainly not least Shane Blades.
Shane really was a huge support before, during and after the event.
Of course, by now, we all know that the Show was an outstanding success, for both the Show Society, the GCCC, and of course the Members of the SGA.
Well, now many members are off to the Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth capitals and the various runs of Shows in NSW and Victoria.
I wish you all safe travels and good health.
Luke Hennessy President
