4. NORTH QUEENSLAND RUN
Shane Lennon’s Hudson’s Circus is making its first trip to Queensland’s north for a winter season, playing Cairns July 3-22. Featuring 15 performers, a crew of 40, Hudson’s is presenting acts such as the daring Globe of Death; magical Flying Trapeze; Dreamworld’s Goldie the Clown, and Australia’s largest animal act including macaws, camels, llamas and water buffalo. Photographed at right is Shane Lennon and wife Nancy. At left are animal presenters Belinda and Robert Joys.
5. CROWDS RETURN TO LENNON’S
After a quiet start to the circus year Lennon Bros. are wooing large audiences in Victoria and southern NSW. Their new programme was a big hit with Albury audiences during its three week stand. New artistes are Vicente, Doni and Gozalez Vicente and son Gonzalez Jr from Chile; Jefferson Amaral from Brazil (Chantel Rodriguez partner); Kate Smith (Gold Coast) and Lara Elise (Brisbane). Lennon’s were billed for Wangaratta, Bendigo and Mildura.
Visitors to a matinee performance in Wangaratta pictured below were Chantel Rodriguez, Marty and Jane Grant (Lennon’s Circus), Fred Maynard, Warren, Yasmin, Andrew Brophy and Lorraine Perry bottom right, the latter all from the former Perry Bros. Circus.
Thanks to Chantel for the photos.
