Sappo World of Pork Platform
The World of Pork (WoP) platform is operational and can be accessed at www.worldofpork.com. By the end of May 2021, the platform hosted 383 users with 85.4% of the 513 pig producers managed by an assigned Account Manager. The team has been actively contacting and assisting producers to register over the past few months. The number of sows within units registered on the platform amount to 125 114.
Reports
The next reports to be developed include the Domestic Carcass Prices and the upgraded Trade dashboard. The team is also reviewing the current carcass price reporting and exploring ways to improve the creditability of the data.
Abattoir Shipment Tool
The shipment application is being updated with the final round of changes. After the updates are finalized, the application will be made available to participating producers to forward shipment information and receive abattoir data in return, from the MeatMatrix system.
Pork360 Digitalization
Final testing is being performed on the Pork360 module of the World of Pork. The module is planned to become operational during July 2021. Pork360 audits performed during the 2020 accreditation period will be uploaded to the system and made available to producers and auditors.
Data Privacy and Security
SAPPO is working with Secnovate to become compliant with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) by the end of July 2021.
