Apple Day
On Saturday 24th September, Ashvale and The Orchard Project had their annual Apple Day. The day was very successful with many familiar faces, and many new, the sun even came out to shine for us!
This year we were able to press the apples on site. The process works out as follows: once picked, the apples are put into the macerator and then in to the press. This is turned until the juice is squeezed from the apples, making fantastic fresh juice! Thank you everyone who came along to help on the day, we managed to raise £ 1,062 towards the project!
All the apples picked have now gone off to be juiced and bottles will be available at the Christmas bazaar.
