Dear Mrs. Tewell:

Based on the costs shown in the Medicare Plan Finder, the Wellcare Wellness PDP will be $240
less expensive next year for your Rx drugs than those of your current plan – the SilverScript
Choice PDP. Neither of these two plans covers Vagifem, and so the costs shown on the next
page include each plan’s full retail costs for this drug.

But in your case these costs are not accurate because the SilverScript Choice plan granted a
formulary exception for Vagifem and now covers it. The SilverScript Choice plan is probably a
better choice for the 2020 plan year because it covers Vagifem while the Wellcare Wellness Rx
PDP does not cover it.

You could switch to the Wellcare Wellness Rx PDP for the 2020 plan year and request a
formulary exception prior to January 1. The request would probably be granted, but until it is
you won’t know the exact cost of your drugs in the Wellcare Wellness Rx PDP next year.

Given this uncertainty, it may be easier to remain in the SilverScript Choice PDP. But if you want
to call the Wellcare Wellness Rx Plan and try to find out how much Vagifem will cost if it is
approved for coverage, I’ll be glad to compare the plans again (I’d also need to know how much
it will cost next year in the SilverScript Choice PDP).
