Dear Ms. Christy:
Your Medicare evaluation is enclosed. Please check the information on the client data sheet on
page 5 to make sure it is correct. Since Medicare will not become your primary coverage until
March 1, you have some time to enroll in the plan(s) that you choose. The costs shown in your
evaluation are estimates for the 2019 plan year, although Medicare will be your primary (or
first to pay) insurance only for the last 10 months of the year.
Also, if you haven’t done so yet, you can enroll in Part B by calling Social Security at (800) 772-

mail indicating that your Part B coverage will start on March 1.
In choosing the type of coverage you want and then enrolling, here are the steps you might
follow.
Review the evaluation and determine whether you want 1) a Medigap policy

If you decide on the Advantage plan, you can enroll by calling the plan’s toll-free
shown on pages 2-3 of the evaluation. Make sure that the person you speak with
understands that you want your coverage to begin on March 1.
If you decide to get a Medigap policy and a Part D stand-alone plan, you should
first decide which Medigap plan you want – Plan F, Plan G, Plan N, or another
plan. Then we suggest that you call three or more insurance companies that sell
Medigap policies before deciding which company you’ll get your policy from. The
insurers’ toll-free numbers are shown in Appendix B1, and their estimated
premiums are shown in Appendices B1 through B4. Once you’ve decided on the
company you will get your policy from, you can enroll on the phone – again
specifying that you want your coverage to begin on March 1.
Finally, you can enroll in the Part D stand-alone plan that you choose by calling
the plan sponsor. The two stand-alone plans with the lowest costs for the Rx
