POLICY FOR MOTOR INSURANCE
1. DEFINITIONS
1. "Sasria" – Sasria SOC Limited.
2. "Riot" – a violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd. The demonstration of strength and protest,
and demonstration of lawlessness against authority and against the existing conditions. It must be a protest against a government and it must be a crude expression of feelings on a political issue and the act must as a result of political frustration.
3. "Strike" – a refusal to work organized by a body of employees as a form of protest, typically in an attempt to gain a concession or concessions from their employer.
4. "Public Disorder" – disturbance of the peace by disgruntled/unhappy people on the current status quo in large numbers, over a thousand people at once.
5. "Peril" – Exposure to the risk of harm or loss.
6. "Indemnity" – putting the Insured in the same position, as they were before the loss or damage
happened.
7. "Insured" – the person who has taken out the insurance.
1.1 The term “vehicle” shall mean:
(a) Private type motor cars
(b) Commercial vehicles (including irrigation vehicles)
(c) Motor cycles
(d) Buses
(e) Trailers (i.e. Any vehicle without means of self-propulsion designed to be drawn by a self-
propelled vehicle, but excluding any parts or accessories not permanently fitted thereto)
(f) Registered Mobile Plant
(g) Bus Rapid Transit
1.2 Non-registered Types
The above shall mean self-propelled Non-registered vehicles that may be insured under the motor section.
These vehicles are for example but not limited to lawnmowers, golf carts, forklifts, goods-carrying trolleys, tractors with or without lifting apparatus, road rollers, quad bikes, tractors used for maintenance of recreational grounds, sprayers (disinfectant, sanitary and tar), water carts, road graders, scarifiers, sweepers, tower wagons and compressors.
Any such vehicle being owned by or hired or leased by the insured, including any such vehicle temporarily operated by the insured as replacement for any vehicle out of use for the purpose of overhaul, upkeep and/or repair provided that the insurer’s maximum liability shall not exceed the lesser of the retail value of the replacement vehicle or the limit of indemnity of the replaced vehicle as stated in the Sasria motor policy.
1.3 The term “total loss” shall mean the total loss, destruction or damage of the vehicle or where the damage exceeds at least 70% of the retail value of the vehicle.
1.4 The insured shall mean the person, people or juristic entity in whose name the policy is issued.
