ANNUAL SWISH TOURNAMENT RETURNS

After a brief hiatus in 2021 due to COVID, the 26th Annual SWISH tournament hosted 95 teams over the weekend of March 12th and 13th. The SWISH tournament is one of the longest running tournaments in the state and coaches and players were ready to get back into action after COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the 2021 tournament.
The tournament was held in ten gyms throughout Helena, East Helena and Montana City. In total, 190 games were played over the weekend and 260 medals were given out to division champions and 2nd place teams.
The SWISH offers a safe and competitive environment for kids from 2nd through 8th grades to develop their skills and to learn the importance of working as a team. The opportunity to play in a tournament and develop the qualities and traits of good sportsmanship is essential in the development of our youth.
The tournament received a number of kudos from coaches and fans. One coach said, “Thank you for putting this together. My oldest son is an eighth grader and this was his last SWISH tournament, but my youngest is a third grader and it was his first. It is a great tournament and we look forward to it every year.”
The Helena Chamber would like to thank the tournament sponsors, numerous volunteers, court supervisors, referees and tournament chairs for ensuring a great tournament for all involved.
