HLN: Let’s Step Back into the Light
As we begin to see the light at the
end of the pandemic tunnel, Helena Leaders Network (HLN), the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce’s young professional program, is ready to move back into that light.
HLN’s executive committee has worked to keep our area’s up-and-coming leaders virtually connected over the last year, including the recent “5K by St. Patty’s Day” event. Now this group of dedicated and energetic members is looking to launch face-to-face networking events.
“It’s been a tough year for a lot of people for a lot of reasons, and reconnecting with one another is something a lot of us need right now, both personally and professionally,” says Joe Mitchell, HLN co-chair. “I know people are ready to get out from under COVID-19’s shadow, and I think we can do that and still be safe and responsible about it.”
Fellow co-chair Kristen McLaughlin agrees. “We have talked about ways
to break events into smaller groups, keep our networking outdoors, and of course we will be encouraging participants to wear masks. We want people to feel comfortable and safe, and we want to provide opportunities to build relationships. I think we can do both.”
HLN’s 2021 in-person events will kick off in April with a golf social. Attendees will get golfing tips, lessons on scoring and golf etiquette and time to network over drinks and appetizers. Other opportunities in the works include HLN softball and professional development programs on effectively working from home and how managers can stay connected to and support their remote staff.
