DENTAL RESOURCE PROGRAM
Product Donations Save Smiles
Our corporate partners help our program members increase make a difference for more kids in need of critical dental care. 2024 product donations valued at more than $1.5 million helped 49 clinics across the country provide dental treatment and preventive services for more than 185,000 children who may have otherwise slipped through the cracks. A few highlights are featured below.
SS White: Empowering Clinics to Provide Care for More Kids
A $1.2 million product donation from SS White enabled clinics like KinderSmile Foundation in Summit, New Jersey, to provide much-needed dental care to underserved children. For Edward, a local father who dicovered KinderSmile during a food pantry event, this support was life-changing. His two children, living with untreated dental pain, received comprehensive care including fillings, root canals, and extractions—services often unattainable for families facing financial hardship.
SS White’s donation of carbide and diamond burs allowed 31 clinics including KinderSmile to offer high-quality, private-practice-level care, treating more children without passing costs onto patients.
GC America: Restoring Smiles Through Donated Restoratives
In Burbank, CA, Kids’ Community Dental Clinic (KCDC) received a generous donation of glass ionomer and glass hybrid restorative products from GC America. These high-quality materials allow KCDC and other nonprofit dental clinics to treat children with severe dental issues who
otherwise have limited access to specialist care. “Product donations are a game changer for our clinic,” said Dale Gorman, KCDC’s Director. “We know we can offer immediate care that’s needed instead of waiting for funding.”
This donation of $70,000 worth of restoratives has enabled 12 clinics in seven states to provide restorative care to over 19,000 kids, freeing them from the pain and infection that often result from untreated tooth decay.
Crest and Oral-B: Helping Kids Brush Every Day
Crest and Oral-B donated over 25,000 tubes of Crest Kids Sparkle Fun toothpaste and more than 50,000 Oral-B Kids toothbrushes, distributed to schools, clinics, food banks, and other community spaces. The donation enables children, like those served by Community Dental Care (CDC) in Maplewood, MN, to maintain good daily oral hygiene even if their families cannot afford these essentials.
“Oral hygiene supply donations are distributed in community settings, targeting low-income, diverse and underserved communities,” shared Crystal Yang, Director of Development at CDC. For many kids, access to these products can prevent dental disease and open doors to further oral health education and services.
