it is often treated as another seasonal decoration which can get tossed or composted when the holidays are over.
Did you know that chrysanthemums,
or “mums” as many people call them, are actually members of the daisy family of plants? They are related to marigolds, dahlias, and cosmos, among others. If you look more closely at a chrysanthemum, you’ll see why – they share many of the same characteristics: stems are soft, not woody; petals are  at or curled; leaves are pointed; and what many consider to be individual  owers are really complex  ower heads- -generously packed with smaller  orets into rounded pom-poms or the more familiar “daisy” petals-and-eye form.
Chrysanthemums come in a wide variety of colors, including the traditional red, yellow, white and purple. However,
we also see chrysanthemums that are pink, lavender or multicolored, along
