PR Youth Running Mac ‘n’ Cheese Chili Cook-O Event
E V E NT S
The Castle Rock Community is invited to the Fri., March 8th • 5–7pm
1103 Canyon Dr, Castle Rock
For over 30 years Castle Rock Elementary (the oldest elementary school in Castle Rock) has hosted a school Sock Hop. IIt’s a tradition that includes every grade level learning several coordinated dances (the jitter bug, the Macarena, the popcorn dance and several others) and per- formingthesedances
together in the gym on one special night. The entire event is a coordinated e ort by PTO and CRE sta .
The cost to attend
the event is $15 per
student and free for
adults and children
under 3 so it is eco-
nomical for the students, parents and faculty to attend while still raising money for the school. The event also includes auction baskets that have been donated by local businesses and community members, as well as games and face painting for the kiddos. This year there will be 3 Food Trucks: 100%Tacos, Street Snack Bubble Wa es and MoonTime Crepes.
The Sock Hop serves as the school’s largest fundraiser but is only possible with community support. Because 35% of CRE students qualify for Free and Reduced lunch this school simply doesn’t have the same resources enjoyed by neighboring schools. If you are a local business owner who would be willing to donate your services for the silent auction or if you are interested in sponsoring this event with a tax deductible monetary donation please contact Megan Greene: mgreene1@dcsdk12.org.
