CRCGS is a recognized non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible. All programs and classes are offered free of charge, unless otherwise noted, thanks to the support of our members and their annual dues. All regular CRCGS functions occur at the Philip S. Miller Library, 100 Wilcox St., Castle Rock, CO 80104 unless otherwise noted in the event description. Check our website for updates to our programming and education. If you would like to help continue this valuable effort in our community, please pick up a membership form in person, or download one from our website. Annual dues are $30 for an individual, $40 per household (2), Youth (under 18) $25. Please visit our website, www.crcgs.org for more information.
2021 Membership is Now Open
YOU and member dues are the lifeblood of the Castle Rock Colorado Genealogical Society!! Whether you are a beginner or experienced genealogist/family historian, you are important to our society. Your dues help us provide quality Saturday program speakers, educational classes and workshops. Our membership year is from January 1 to December 31. Payments received as in December 2020 will count for the year 2021. Go to www.crcgs.org and click Join/Renew. You can pay with PayPal or download a Membership form and either mail it to the address provided or bring it to any CRCGS program or event. We look forward to another exciting year of learning and sharing your expertise with other genealogists.
January 2021 CRCGS Education and Program:
• Practical Genealogy with Jenny Carlisle: Thursday January 7, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. via Zoom. Registration is required. We will cover the proper way to use names/dates/places, citing your sources, software, where to find information, and organizing the abundant information that your family has left for you to uncover. Let’s avoid some common mistakes and get started!
• Managing the Genealogy Data Monster with Thomas MacEntee: Saturday January 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. via Zoom. Registration is required. Attendees will learn the basics of working “smarter” instead of “harder” when it comes to managing genealogy data.
SHARE: Sharing Help And Research Experience via Zoom Webinar
Every Monday 10 a.m. – Noon
Join us on Monday mornings, when the library is open, to share Genealogy research roadblocks and triumphs, pick up a few trick and tips, and hear some great family stories from your fellow genealogists. Registration required at www.crcgs.org.
