VetFest Fundraiser – July 3
The Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation is proud to hold our annual VetFest fundraiser on Sat., July 3 from 10am to 4pm at Festival Park in Downtown Castle Rock. There will be a 5K Fun Run & Walk. The event will also feature live music, artist and vendor booths, beer tents, food trucks, and more. CR Historical Society – July 8
Please join us on Thurs., July 8 to learn all about the 1878- 79 Royal Gorge War between the Denver & Rio Grande Railway and the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway. Both lines wanted the rights to lay track to the mineral rich mines in Leadville, but only one would  t through the narrow gorge. We will be showing a video called “The Royal Gorge Wars” followed by a discussion. Refreshments will be served at 6:45pm with the presentation beginning at 7pm at the Philip S. Miller Library 100 S.
