DC Teachers Supply Drive – January 2–22
The Foundation is partnering with Of ce Depot and the Douglas County Libraries to collect donations from our local community in support of our teachers and their classrooms. The donation drive will run from January 2 through January 22, at all Douglas County Of ce Depots and DC Library locations. DCSD Teachers will be able to pick up free supplies for their classrooms at the “Grab & Go” events. See more on this page and on page 17.

CR Historical Society presentation – January 12
Join us on Thurs. January 12 for a presentation by Janice Baker on the adventures of her grandmother, Marion Sloan Russell, as she traveled on the Santa Fe Trail a mere seven times in the late 1800s. Marion’s diary describing this ad- venture and how she became friends with Kit Carson has been put into a book entitled: “Land of Enchantment”. Ms. Baker will highlight moments from the book while dressed in period attire. This event was postponed in November and rescheduled for January. Refreshments will be served at 6:45pm with the presentation beginning at 7:00pm at the Philip S. Miller Library, 100 S. Wilcox St. Castle Rock. Holiday Tea at The Castle – through January 21
Gather friends and family for Holiday Tea at the Cher- okee Ranch Castle now through January 21. Enjoy tea options, nger sandwiches, treats and scones with clotted cream and jam. Afterwards, you may enjoy a guided tour through the Castle.
