It’s All About MUSIC
“Pay to Play”
Lots of bands and solo acts. Not so many venues.
You’ve put your group together. Pooled your resources. Invested in your local music equipment retailer. Picked a bunch of songs, maybe written a few, worked them out, practiced them, rehearsed them, rehearsed them some more. Good.
You’ve got the gear. The material. Just nished your Social Media. You’re ready to go. Ok.
NOW WHAT?
Time to get out of the basement or garage and get in front of people. Yep, you need some gigs.
The internet is always watching you.
Surprise you been invited to play a show or participate in a ‘battle of the bands’ at a cool venue. The Pitch: ‘We saw your site and have a few openings.......’ That was easy.
Why not..? You bite..... They’ll help with promo. They offer a little longer set. You’ll have access to the ‘green room’. This is gonna be cool. All you have to do is sell tickets. The more you sell the longer the set. The more you sell the better the start time.
It happens to new bands, established bands, and retreads. If you control your ego, you win. You gain the experience. If your ego wins, you can wind up buying a bunch of tickets and paying a lot for basically the same experience.
