 The Secretary’s Desk
Your Duty There, Brother Secretary? To keep a fair record of all things proper to be written.
To receive all monies due the Lodge, paying them over to the Treasurer, receiving his receipt therefore.
Brethren,
As we enter the third month of this year it is my distasteful duty to inform
you that presently about 1/3rd of our membership dues remain unpaid. Dues for EACH year are “past-due” as of the first of January and any unpaid member is considered by the Grand Lodge to be in “poor standing" thereafter. I hold the un- signed Dues Card for every delinquent member and the stack numbers close to 60! Without a signed Dues Card in hand, a member is not entitled to attend any Masonic body. Your Lodge cannot operate effectively without the timely payment of your dues. The practice of delaying dues payment deprives each of your Brothers of the benefits of a Lodge operating according to its approved budget by limiting the activities and acts of charity planned for the year by the Worship- ful Master—it is disruptive to the operations of the Lodge.
Each member is expected to pay their annual dues before January 1 of each year in the amount of $170. Dues can be paid by check and mailed to the lodge address or mailed to my home:
Lodge: 46 Monroe Sr., Westminster, MD, 21158 Secretary: 3212 Patapsco Rd. Finksburg, MD, 21048
Dues can also be paid online via credit card (with additional fee) via Square:
https://squareup.com/store/doortovirtue46
Your dues can always be paid in person via check or Cash at Lodge...
In all cases of hardship—please call me or the Worshipful Master; There is al- ways a way to ease the distressed and maintain a member’s “good standing”, thereby continuing Masonic Privileges and avoiding the impending suspension for non-payment of dues that is required by the Grand Lodge later in the year.
Fraternally & Respectfully, Steve Gemeny, PM, - Secretary
