The Program I Registered for is Virtual - How Does It Work?
For everyone’s health and safety, the Oxford Public Library has invested thousands of dollars into moving a portion of its programming over to a virtual platform. Depending on the meeting or program you register for, you will be provided multiple attendance options to meet your needs. We were comfortable making this investment because we also understand that even when life returns to normal - we will be able to keep you and your family actively engaged in your Library’s activities with your busy and chaotic schedules.
Some of our larger library-wide programs are now being
offered in Beanstack. This software allows you to register, track and achieve your Reading Program goals at your own pace. Additional library initiatives will be added as we work behind the scenes to expand our program offerings this Fall.
Other programs are now being offered in our Virtual Webinar Meeting Room using our Zoom software. This programming option allows us to offer more specialized and personalized traditional programs in a safe and secure online environment.
If you choose to attend a program virtually, you may be required to download the free participant software ahead of time, but there is no cost to you - we have secured the necessary licensing on our end needed to host the meeting or program in a virtual world. Once you have registered for the program using our online patron registration software - or by calling the Library directly, you will be emailed a link to your personal ticket to join the “live” meeting at its regularly scheduled time.
We know that this is not an ideal way of doing programming, but also know that your health and safety is a priority as we begin to reengage your Library experience. If you have questions about any of this software - we are always here to help. Thank you for joining us on this new adventure - a journey we hope keeps the Oxford Public Library part of your family’s life as we navigate these unchartered waters together.
