Cleveland Clinic Akron General is uniquely positioned to address health disparities identified in Akron as urgent: infant mortality, chronic disease management, early treatment for cancer and COVID-19.
Cleveland Clinic Akron General:
Serves primary care patients at our Center for Family Medicine located in the urban core of Akron
Trains more than 150 medical residents annually, many of whom care for uninsured/underinsured patients at our Federally Qualified Health Care partner AxessPointe in downtown Akron
Co-leads the Services Action Team of Mayor Horrigan’s Full Term First Birthday Greater Akron collaborative and helps fund the City of Akron’s Health Equity Ambassador position
Our compassionate physician leaders witness the impact of health disparities daily while serving patients here and at partner organizations including Faithful Servants Care Center, ACCESS shelter, and Haven of Rest, among many others. Our physicians and entire team of caregivers step up and step in to bring change to this situation. We are neighbors caring for neighbors. However, we know there is so much more care, compassion and change needed.
