Highlander Nation It has been a a a a a a a a a a a long road to to get here but football is is back Football is is such a a a a a a a a a a a way of life in Texas and to to have the the opportunity to once again have packed stadiums filled with the the energy and spirit of a a a a a a a community makes this this the the best time of the the year I I tend to agree with this this Luke Bryan lyric “I believe that most Friday nights nights look look better better under stadium lights ” This year Thursday nights nights will look look better better too All of the the students involved from the the trainers band cheerleaders drill team and and football players have spent numerous hours preparing for the the the chance to to compete tonight For many these games will be the the the last opportunities they will have to to perform to to give give their their all in their their given activity Athletics provide opportunities for young adults to learn life lessons about dedication hard work adversity team work perseverance and many more These lessons will will serve as experiences that will will aid them when they face the the the the challenges of of of life They will also create memories memories memories memories of of of one of of of the the the the greatest times of their lives things that they they will talk about for many years to come As they they recall these times they will remember how incredible our Highsteppers Cheerleaders and and Band are respectively and how much they added to their experience The spirit provided by these programs is unmatched We greatly appreciate the support we receive from our administration faculty and student body All of whom make TWHS events first class 2021 begins the the the 46th season of Highlander Football Over the the the years the the the coaches and and players have helped to to shape the reputation of of this program The history and traditions of of TWHS Athletics are far reaching The 2021 Highlander football team will work hard to continue these traditions Thank you for for being being being here tonight and for for being being being a a a a a part of the the memories being being being made by these students Your support and and encouragement is needed tonight and and as as we continue throughout the season The team has worked hard and feels they they have something to prove they they are “ON A MIS21ON” Not only are they on on on on a a a a mission to to to to be be be successful successful tonight and this season but to to to to be be be successful successful in life Remember to to to to enjoy this experience as you you you cheer on on the Highlanders tonight we need you you you and and appreciate you!
