WOOD-CARVERS IN THE SERVICE OF THE CHURCH
A group of artists and artisans from our studios, with up-to-date knowledge created the largest Risen Christ ever made, it is 27 ft. tall and 20 ft. wide from finger tip to finger tip.
It was commissioned for the new Basilica on Mount Don Bosco, near Turin, Italy.

In our new facility, we have spacious areas to ensure that custom work of any size can be com-
pleted. This artist is carving a wood bas-relief representing the History of America for the St. Matthew Cathedral in Jacksonville, Florida.
«God bless your works» said His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, to Mr. Ivo Demetz, President of the Demetz Art Studios, and to Mr. Konrad Piazza, the sculptor of the largest Christ ever made, at the inauguration of the Basilica of Don Bosco (Turin, Italy).
The Risen Christ (280/29) on the following page is the most distinctive wood-carving ever produced by the Demetz Art Studio. This figure is shown carved in lindenwood and lightly tinted. The character of the wood is always preserved whether left in its natural color or tinted with oil co- lors. This figure is also available in bronze or fiberglass for indoor or out- door use.
