44 On the competitive plane, the struggle to get rich is a Godless scramble for
45 power over other men; but when we come into the creative mind, all this is
46 changed. All that is possible in the way of greatness and soul unfoldment, of
47 service and lofty endeavor, comes by way of getting rich; all is made possible
48 by the use of things. If you lack for physical health, you will find that the
49 attainment of it is conditional on your getting rich. Only those who are
50 emancipated from financial worry, and who have the means to live a care-
51 free existence and follow hygienic practices, can have and retain health.
52 Moral and spiritual greatness is possible only to those who are above the
53 competitive battle for existence; and only those who are becoming rich on
54 the plane of creative thought are free from the degrading influences of
55 competition. If your heart is set on domestic happiness, remember that love
56 flourishes best where there is refinement, a high level of thought, and
57 freedom from corrupting influences; and these are to be found only where
58 riches are attained by the exercise of creative thought, without strife or
59 rivalry .
60 You can aim at nothing so great or noble, I repeat, as to become rich; and you
61 must fix your attention upon your mental picture of riches, to the exclusion
62 of all that may tend to dim or obscure the vision.
63 You must learn to see the underlying TRUTH in all things; you must see
64 beneath all seemingly wrong conditions the Great One Life ever moving
65 forward toward fuller expression and more complete happiness. It is the
66 truth that there is no such thing as poverty; that there is only wealth.
67 Some people remain in poverty because they are ignorant of the fact that
68 there is wealth for them; and these can best be taught by showing them the
69 way to affluence in your own person and practice.
70 Others are poor because, while they feel that there is a way out, they are too
71 intellectually indolent to put forth the mental effort necessary to find that
72 way and by travel it; and for these the very best thing you can do is to arouse
