315 Law, not confusion, is the dominating principle in the
316 universe; justice, not injustice, is the soul and substance of
317 life; and righteousness, not corruption, is the molding and
318 moving force in the spiritual government of the world. This
319 being so, man has but to right himself to find that the
320 universe is right, and during the process of putting himself
321 right, he will find that as he alters his thoughts toward things
322 and other people, things and other people will alter toward
323 him.
324 The proof of this truth is in every person, and it therefore
325 admits of easy investigation by systematic introspection and
326 self-analysis. Let a man radically alter his thoughts, and he
327 will be astonished at the rapid transformation it will effect in
328 the material conditions of his life. Men imagine that thought
329 can be kept secret, but it cannot; it rapidly crystallizes into
330 habit, and habit solidifies into circumstance. Bestial
331 thoughts crystallize into habits of drunkenness and
332 sensuality, which solidify into circumstances of destruction
