just a few. 2019 Pre Professional student Grace Carroll was awarded Overall Winner of the Senior Womans division at YAGP NY and will be taking up place at The Paris Opera Ballet School in September. Other TPA 2019 graduating students will be joining The John Cranko School Stuttgart, The Royal Ballet School, The English National Ballet School, European School of Ballet, Joffrey Chicago, Rambert Academy and The Australian Ballet School.
The Academy also provides Pre Professional training for students to remain studying in Australia with the option of joining one of our Companies. Academy Graduate Katherine Sonnekus joined the Australian Ballet Company in 2018 and TPA graduate Cameron Holmes also accepted a full contract with The Australian Ballet in 2018, with other recent graduates joining West Australian Ballet and Melbourne City Ballet.
The Academy offers regular workshops and master classes with local and international guest teachers. Students of the Academy have the opportunity to perform annually with THE SYDNEY CITY BALLET COMPANY.
COURSES
Junior & Senior Transition Programs
– Designed for students making the very important transition from part time to full time studies. The Transition program provides intensive and tailored training and coaching in classical ballet technique, pointe and contemporary under the guidance of Artistic Director Lucinda Dunn and with faculty of the Full Time Academy.
Full Time Level 1 - Cygnet Program A 1-2 year full time program specifically tailored to the younger full time student, keeping in mind their physical and emotional readiness for full time training. This 6 day a week program offers classical ballet, pointe, repertoire, pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique and increased time for on-site academic studies. Lectures in Nutrition, Dance Psychology and Anatomy.
Full Time Classical Levels 2 & 3 A 2-3 year program (depending on age and progress) providing comprehensive and holistic training and coaching in classical ballet, RAD & Cecchetti Syllabi offered, contemporary, repertoire, pas de deux, character, pilates, PBT, academic studies, body and mind conditioning. Lectures in Nutrition, Dance Psychology and Anatomy.
Full Time Pre-Professional Course – The Pre Professional Course is designed for students having already completed a minimum of 2 years of full time training and provides the necessary coaching and guidance to prepare a student for company level auditions and entry. Pre Professional students are coached by Lucinda Dunn on technique but also professional artistry, strength and quality for professional performance level.
Main subjects: Classical ballet (RAD, Cecchetti, Vaganova Syllabi), open classical
classes, character, pas de deux, contemporary, pointe classes, male coaching, repertoire, dance history, anatomy, dance psychology, health and nutrition, pilates, limber/stretch and conditioning, progressing ballet technique (PBT), private coaching for competitions, on-site academic tutoring and on-site physiotherapists. Contact hours per day:
8.30-4.00pm Mon-Fri
From 1.5 to 3 hours on a Saturday. Additional hours provided for on-site academic tutoring and lectures. Pre-requisites/entry requirements: Sufficient level of Classical ballet training, facility and potential.

Royal Academy of Dance CBTS Mentoring. Main subjects: The core components include RAD vocational exam coaching, Solo Seal, advanced classical and contemporary open classes, pas de deux, repertoire, pointe, specialised
coaching, competition

Students attend Terry Simpson Studios’s Full-time Vocational Coaching Programme from all over Australia and overseas.
Assistance with arrangements for students to complete their academic studies whilst participating in
the Programme.
Aimed at students from Year 10 academic level, it provides students with an intensive and specialised foundation on which to build careers in professional dance, dance teaching and allied dance fields.
Graduates acceptances include: Dutch National Ballet; Australian Ballet School & Company; Sydney Dance Company;
