repair businesses continues to swell. Since the last magazine was published I-CAR Australia has announced five new Gold-accredited businesses. In New South Wales Suncorp repairer SAS Smash Repairs in Gateshead and Jackson Bros and IAG & You repairer in Maryland completed the training required.

In Victoria Surbaru approved repairer Pomroy Panels, in Niddrie and Suncorp repairer Aristoc Panels in Glen Waverley also achieved Gold status. All the businesses said how easy it was to access the training online and how much is has benefited the business and their team’s confidence.
    IAG QUALITY REPORT
                  IAG HAS RELEASED ITS EIGHTH
quality report which provides the latest data on its moni- toring of repair standards across its national motor
and property repair net- works. IAG general manager direct claims
Luke Gallagher said, “Although COVID-19 re- strictions had an impact on the number of quality inspec-
tions that could be conducted, we undertook almost 30,000 quality inspections across our motor and property
portfolios.”
Across its motor port-
folio, IAG undertook 25,009 inspections and identified 1,923 quality issues. The report says its average repair quality score
was 96.8 per cent.
                        RENAULT AUSTRALIA OFFICIALLY JOINS ATECO GROUP.
Renault joins LDV, Maserati, RAM Trucks and Upfitter in Australia, alongside Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati and RAM in New Zealand as the brands overseen by Ateco Group.
All existing Renault dealers have endorsed the change by making the switch to the Ateco Group, supported by 24 business critical roles from the former head office function. The Ateco Group is on-track to hit over $1bn in turnover next financial year.
“Renault has an exciting model line-up coming through over the next few years,” says Sealey.
“There is also a healthy car park of owners in Australia, so the fundamentals of the brand are sound, and we look forward to a bright future with Renault.”
COMMONWEALTH BANK INSURANCE BUYERS CIRCLE
Allianz which last year purchased Westpac Banking Corporation’s general insurance (GI) business for $725 million, is reportedly looking to snap up the GI unit of Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).
Also said to be in the running are IAG, Suncorp, QBE and Tokio Marine.
LOCHLAN MORGAN IS FIRST PREP IT! WINNER
The first Norton Prep It! winner is Lochlan Morgan, a first year panel beating apprentice at Kangan Institute, Victoria who prepared a door panel utilising Norton Cyclonic Blaze sanding discs. The Prep It! competition showcases apprentices skills in preparing surfaces.
Each month the Norton will judge from all entered images the best prepared vehicle or parts using
Norton products.
The monthly winner will receive a $200 gift card, and four runner-up winners will each receive a $50 gift card.
