THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT’S NATIONAL CORONAVIRUS CAMPAIGN
keep that cough under cover.
Always cough or sneeze into your arm or a tissue and put the tissue in the bin straight away. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds afterwards.
Together we can help stop the spread and stay healthy.

LT: Australia was, and is, desperate for fact-based COVID-19 information so while not visually stimulating, these factually designed ads do their job. It’s not the place to be emotional or clever so they crack it with the consistent, clear approach.
CA: In a time of so much uncertainty, people were craving information and that’s exactly what this campaign provided.
It touched on all the necessary points, it didn’t overcomplicate things, it was live in record time and it looked alright. Job done.
NB: All this campaign had to do was let us know what’s happening, and how we can play our part.
It does both. Sure, it could do
with some crafting, but this one was real.
SNAPCHAT JOINS FORCES WITH WHO
LT: I love the relevance of this.
A very smart way to create meaning, connect with younger audiences and integrate into their social repertoire. Talking with them instead of at them.
CA: I like this. It’s a helpful solution
to a very real problem. Social media feeds became a COVID-19 chasm and it was hard to separate fact from fiction. Snapchat found a way to share credible, fact-based information without making it
a chore. Plus, the Bitmoji stickers are cute and that always helps.
NB: I guess this one depends a little on which side of the fence you sit in the “role of social media giants” debate — the side of veracity and accountability, or the side of Mark Zuckerberg. A PSA with a trusted partner for an audience that might otherwise not see it: worth doing.

It is very difficult to distinguish between the symptoms of COVID-19, influenza and a cold. If you have any infectious or respiratory symptoms (such as a sore throat, headache, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, cough or runny nose) don’t go to work. You need to self-isolate and to be assessed by a medical professional. You may need testing for COVID-19. You must not return to work until cleared by a medical professional. You need to ensure that the people you care for are protected and safe.
