various sectors including manufacturing, office buildings and local government.
Energy Efficiency Expo portfolio director, Robby Clark, said the 2021 event takes place at a time where managing costs is vital in Australia.
“Now is the time for organisations to start im- plementing energy management upgrades to slash electricity bills and lower carbon emis- sions,” he said.
“Energy Efficiency Expo will provide businesses, government and industries the opportunity to con- nect with innovative energy solutions suppliers and gain actionable information at our conference.”
The health and safety of exhibitors, visitors and staff is Energy Efficiency Expo’s number one priority.
The organisers of the event are actively moni- toring the COVID-19 situation as it evolves and working with the venue and relevant authorities to ensure the event will have the highest health and safety protocols in place.
Energy Efficiency Expo will be held from 27-28 October 2021 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Free registration is available at www.energyefficiencyexpo.com.au

AS THE COUNTRY is still dealing with the eco- nomic impact of COVID-19, cost management is more important than ever.
Electricity prices account for a large portion of businesses’ expenses and carbon emissions, making energy management investments a stra- tegic and cost-effective way to meet these goals.
States and territories across Australia also recognise the massive potential of energy effi- ciency, with the launch of new grants, policies and programs to help businesses cut energy bills and address climate change.
This is an opportunity for organisations to start adopting energy efficiency practices and technologies to reduce operating costs and build greater resilience.
For this reason, the Energy Efficiency Expo is returning to Melbourne this October as a face- to-face event to help businesses discover the lat- est energy saving technologies and unlock the full benefits of energy efficiency.
This free-to-attend exhibition and conference, organised in partnership with the Energy Effi- ciency Council, will showcase a wide range of en- ergy efficient products and services, such as LED lighting, energy management equipment and software, HVAC, thermal performance products and water heating efficiency technology.
Featuring more than 80 speakers across two days, the conference program will focus on poli- cy, energy systems, innovative technologies, in- tegrated energy transition, and strategies for

solutions, active across 70 countries and 170 manufacturing sites including Australia and New Zealand.
In 2017, Kingspan Insulation commissioned a $40 million modern manufacturing facility in Melbourne with the aim of supplying growing de- mand for high performance rigid foam insulation in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
The acquisition of Thermakraft Limited is further evidence of the positive outlook King- span has for the region and its growing demand for higher performing buildings.
Kingspan Insulation APAC, managing direc- tor, Scott Gibson, said Thermakraft is a terrific business and market leader in building mem- branes, roofing underlay, flashing tapes and roof safety mesh.
“In recent years, they have made significant
in-roads into the Australian market with the ac- quisition of Australian Mesh (Ausmesh) as a strategic entry point for their range of building membranes and underlays and we hope to fur- ther enhance that momentum,” Gibson said.
“Both Thermakraft and Ausmesh occupy leading brand positions within their respective segments and have significant customer syner- gies with the existing Kingspan Insulation busi- ness, manufacturing out of several sites across Australia and New Zealand.”
Thermakraft managing director, Dwayne Warby, said the acquisition will merge the two brands and allow a wider range of products and expertise to be offered to the New Zealand and Australian markets.
“While we will have a new owner, our com- pany will remain the same,” he said. ✺
