GREAT CAREER PROSPECTS
BITZER wants to showcase HVACR as an industry with excellent career prospects for women.
It is the reason why the compressor manufacturer has sponsored the Woman of the Year in HVACR Award.
BITZER director, Simon Wood, said HVACR needs to be a diverse and inclusive industry with opportunities for everyone.
“BITZER is an equal opportunity employer and our workforce is made up of 32 per cent of women in a range of roles from production to management,” he said.
“We actively encourage women to join the industry by attending female work groups at TAFE and universities to get more women involved in HVACR.”
This is an awards category that has showcased a lot of impressive winners including HydroChem general manager, Christie Deneys, and About Airconditioning owner, Jenny Smith.
To be a part of all the action simply attend this year’s CCN Live conference which will feature a series of guest speakers presenting on the topic Unlock the Supply Chain.
Speakers include Adam Wade from Bega Dairy and Drinks, Mark Barthel, the CEO of Stop Food Waste and Australian Food Cold Chain Council chair, Mark Mitchell.

CCN’s HVACR Leadership Awards are about people, not projects. We want to hear about your successes and your hard work.
Alfa Laval has sponsored the Energy Savings & Sustainability Award.
The company’s refrigeration industry manag- er, John Anson, said meeting the world’s rising
energy demand while reducing CO2 emissions is one of the biggest challenges of our time.
“This can only be achieved by improving en- ergy efficiency,” he said.
According to the International Energy Agen- cy, increased efficiency could account for more than 40 per cent of emissions reductions in the next 20 years.
“We are proud to partner with the HVACR in- dustry to design more energy efficient systems, such as compact plate heat exchangers with high heat transfer efficiency,” he said
“An award winner in this category should demonstrate a clear goal and roadmap to im- prove the energy efficiency of existing and up- coming projects/installations.
“Ideally, they should show quantifiable bene- fits compared with conventional practices.
“What we do in the next decade to limit emissions will be critical to the future, which is why every country, sector, industry and each one of us must work together to find ways to cut the carbon we produce, which results in improving energy saving as one of the single most important activities to curb climate change,” Anson said. ✺
