PRODUCT NEWS
NEW GEN HANDLING
ENMIN says its
new generation
drives are designed to
energise production lines by offering a unique handling method for controlling the flow of food products, ingredients and bulk material. Products can be screened, sized, or accurately metered to ensure a smooth, uniform and fully variable flow.
With minimal moving parts, next to no on-going maintenance and low energy consumption, it’s a reliable, low-cost method of product handling, the company says.
The cyclic operation is controlled from a range of electronic controllers that will vary the feeding rate in a manner to suit the specific application enabling high-speed filling coupled with pinpoint accuracy. The controllers are available in different enclosures or as standalone for incorporation into central panels.
The drives are available with either an epoxy or a recently introduced Teflon coating. The Teflon coating provides greater cathodic protection thereby eliminating surface rust, making it the ideal surface finish for a food environment.
The Teflon is fully FDA approved; its 40-micron surface coating means that it does not suffer from the chipping that can occur on painted models. This makes it ideal for use on mobile equipment that is susceptible to knocks and bangs as it is moved around the workplace.
TRANSMITTING SIMPLICITY
AMETEK Magnetrol’s new Pulsar Model R80 radar level transmitter exemplifies simplicity. Building upon the company's leading radar technology portfolio, Magnetrol now offers an 80 GHz radar transmitter for the industrial market.
FMCW technology and an 80 GHz operating frequency allow for superior performance, smaller antennas, better accuracy, and enhanced resolution. Additionally, Magnetrol’s configuration wizards and proactive diagnostics make commissioning and troubleshooting easier than ever. As is typical with Magnetrol loop-powered devices, the transmitter housing may be separated from the antenna without disrupting the process seal.
As for applications, the Model R80 is minimally affected by turbulence, foam, or excessive vapours as is often the case with ultrasonic transmitters and some radar products. The smaller antennas and narrower beam angles allow it to be installed into vessels with smaller process connections and those with internal obstructions that must be avoided.
VERSATILE EFFICIENCY
NORD DuoDrive integrates a high-efficiency IE5+ synchronous motor into a single-stage helical gear unit. Its system efficiency of up to 92 per cent is one of the highest in the market of this power class.
The drive is suitable for use in food and pharmaceutical industries as well as in intralogistics.
DuoDrive is also ideal for use in hygiene-sensitive and harsh environments, and ensures higher system availability and low cleaning costs through lower cleaning effort.
The constant motor torque over a wide speed range allows for consistent version reduction and reduction of operating costs.
Together with the simple plug-and-play commissioning, this results in a significant reduction in the total cost of ownership in comparison with existing drive systems.
The patented geared motor is now available for powers of up to 3 kW with a continuous torque of up to 250 Nm and speeds of up to 1,000 min-1, and covers gear unit speed ratios of i=3 to i=18.
Market-compatible connection dimensions facilitate the replacement and the integration into existing plant designs.
DuoDrive is compatible with NORD drive electronics and can be equipped with all common hollow shaft dimensions (20 to 40 mm) and flange versions (B5 and B14), or a torque arm. DuoDrive can be universally used with the same motor variant worldwide.
ES-FLOW FAMILY EXPANDS
THE new model of the ES-FLOW family, the ES-1x2C, is a flow meter that covers the flow range just below the existing ES-1x3I or ES-1x3C.
The market for low liquid flow range of ≤1000 kg/h or l/h measurement and control is important due to its size and the expected growth of this segment.
The ES-FLOW product
series offers a good performance of ≤ 0.8 per cent Rd at an economic price level. Mini CORI-FLOW offers an even higher performance, but this high performance level at ≤ 0.2 per cent Rd is not always required. Both flow meter series include the same unique Bronkhorst features such as on-board PID-controller, totaliser & alarm functions and many communication buses, followed up by the dedicated Bronkhorst sales and service network.
The ultrasonic flow meters ES-1x2C and ES-1x3C are compact, versatile, liquid independent, provided with a straight sensor tube, e.g. low internal volume, easy to clean, low-pressure drop in relation to sensor diameter and equipped with advanced signal processing (e.g. dosing functionality).
