design that Emmett says “future proofs” businesses and can provide that much-needed competitive edge. The company was also demonstrat- ing HMPSConnect – its IIoT solution for remote trouble shooting.
Emmett says that for HMPS – which has some 20 installations in SE Asia – the show also presented a chance to network with key supplier partners such as SMC, ABB, and Rockwell Automation.
He encouraged Australian OEMs to participate in future shows, if not as exhibitors then as visitors at first, to see what the show has to offer.
Also no stranger to the exhibitor list at ProPak Asia exhibitor is end-of-line packaging machinery specialist Fibre King, which has had a manufacturing facility set up in Rayong, Thailand since 2012, and has been exporting to the SE Asia region for over 20 years.
The company was exhibiting its new compact modular palletiser, which is designed for palletising in
space-limited facilities; the footprint is two by three metres.
“As a local manufacturer in Thailand, it is a great opportunity to showcase Fibre King capabilities and generate local enquiries for our solutions,” said CEO James Windsor.
“Even before we established our manufacturing facility in Thailand, the business had been exporting to the region. Now that we are local, it is fantastic to have a world-leading tradeshow right on our doorstep,” Windsor said.
“One of the traps when looking at the ASEAN market is to think the methods of doing business are the same in all countries in the region. Experience has taught us this is not the case; it’s essential to have local representation.”
Like Emmett, Windsor advises Australian companies who are not sure whether to exhibit at ProPak Asia, to take time out to first visit the show and scope out the possi- bilities the market offers.
