grammable air burst munitions out to 3 km, the shorter-range M230LF 30mm can- non mounted on an EOS R400 RWS, and a concentrated point defence R400 RWS mounting a 7.62 mm Dillon Aero mini-gun.
Field testing of the Titanis system is scheduled for November, the company says.
RAIDER TARGETRY
Sunshine Coast innovation company Raid- er Targetry is a quiet achiever; its MMTS (Mobile Moving Target System) has already been deployed across seven ADF ranges in Australia but its first private sale, to EOS, was announced during the exposition.
EOS will use the system to support a comprehensive test fire program for its R400 RWS, the T2000 turret and the Ti- tanis counter-drone system.
In essence the MMTS day/night com- bined arms system comprises an unmanned tractor manufactured by Raider towing a trailer with an arm extendable out to 12 metres. The trailer mounts plywood tar- gets mimicking the appearance of military and non-military land vehicles, helicopters, UAVs and more. Patented Heat on Demand technology produces both optical and ther- mal signatures.
Executive Director Mick Fielding points out that unlike Raider, most moving target systems are rail-based. Raider is already unrivalled in terms of speed, manoeuvra- bility, and the range of ammunition na- tures that can engage the target, he says. A 2023 development will provide enhanced manoeuvrability and increase the current speed from 40 kph to 60-70 kph to more accurately match that of mimicked targets.
SAAB’S GROUND-LAUNCHED
SMALL DIAMETER BOMB
A one-third model of the innovative ground- launched small diameter bomb (GLSDB) outside the Saab Australia stand confirmed the company’s intention to pitch the ca- pability as a complement to Project Land 8113’s requirement for a ground-launched missile system.
Developed by Saab in partnership with Boeing, the GLSDB combines a M26 ground-based rocket motor from Lockheed Martin’s Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) with a 250lb GBU-39B Small Di- ameter Bomb featuring a 57.6kg penetrat- ing blast and fragmentation warhead.
The GLSDB has a range of up to 150km and can hit moving targets under all weather conditions day and night, with low
