                                         Defence Starts with Visibility
Defence commentary in Australia is haunting of late. Potential threats being discussed include cyber-attacks that could shut down electricity generation, halt our wireless connectivity and/or attack our financial sector.
The fall out from an attack on a nation’s critical infrastructure is significant. Australia is leading discussions in this space to ensure
our nation is holistically protected—
from the deployment of cyber hubs across government, to strong critical infrastructure legislation and strategic defence measures.
In the age of the Internet of Things, our vulnerability to cyber-attacks is heightened and we must be prepared. With predictions that there will be more than 75 billion connected devices in the world by 2025, the visibility and security of endpoints is more important than ever before.
For our defence sector, the Internet of Things presents advancements that support our ability to protect our nation and its soldiers. Within government and across the defence supply chain, the use of connected vehicles, drones, sensors, phones and more help us gain and use intelligence.
As we continue to advance technology more quickly than ever, our defence capabilities increase; but so too do our cyber endpoints, leading to an increased attack surface and heightened vulnerability. Like all strategic defence solutions, reducing the risks of cyber-attacks requires a coordinated
range of tactics.
The most essential demand is for real-time endpoint visibility that supports people and technology working together to defend our information, our systems and our lives.
A common question across the defence sector, and more broadly across government and large businesses, is how to improve visibility. Real-time, continuous visibility supports strategic decision making. It also frees employees to do more of the necessary work required of cyber experts as global threats increase.
However, gaining a complete view can be difficult when national defence departments work in coordination with the defence industry, with various supplier endpoints connected.
Around the world it is well known that a defence department is only as strong as its weakest link.
One of the hardest challenges for a cyber defender is separating the noise from the signals of a serious attack. Tanium works
with organisations to immediately identify intrusions that require attention. This is why multiple branches of the US Armed Forces rely on Tanium to make confident decisions, operate efficiently and effectively, and remain resilient against disruption.
We know that defence starts with visibility, and when a threat occurs, it must be combatted with speed. Tanium collaborates with organisations to help them gain full insight and quickly respond to attacks.
We’re proud of our ability to help nations protect themselves. See how Tanium offers endpoint management and security that is built for the world’s most demanding IT environments.
