CAPABILITIES: ASC is Australia’s dedicated submarine sustainment and shipbuilding services company with naval design, construction, project management, supply chain and engineering resources un- paralleled in the nation.
Established in 1985 as the prime contractor to build and deliver the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN’s) six Collins Class submarines, ASC was subsequently contracted for their through-life support, mainte- nance and design upgrades.
In 2005, the Australian Government selected ASC as the shipbuilder for the Hobart Class AWD Program, as part of the AWD Alliance. The three commissioned ships form the RAN’s most advanced warship fleet.
