CAPABILITIES: The Queensland Flight Test Range includes: • acccess to a 2000 metre commercial grade runway
• 1,150 metre secondary runway
• secure hangar and workshop
• range control centre
• range control system including a primary surveillance radar and
other tracking equipment
• access to varying airspace volumes
• SORA/Safety Case development.
The facility is suitable for flying all weight classes of UAS for routine operations, test and evaluation, and trials activities of varying levels of complexity.
This Queensland Government facility is operated by QinetiQ.

CAPABILITIES: Air Affairs Australia (AAA) is the OEM for several aerial target products including the Phoenix Unmanned Aerial Target (UAT) drone. The UAT system has been developed specifically for Defence training applications. It provides a mid-performance solu- tion for air defence missile systems and ground based gun systems. The Phoenix UAT was conceived, designed and fully manufactured in Australia by Air Affairs Australia. The ground control station, drone launcher system and support equipment were also designed and manufactured by AAA. The UAT provides a realistic threat simula- tion and enhancement such as MDI, Smoke, and IR can be added to meet the requirements of a wide range of weapon systems.
