“That’s a huge bonus for qualifying exhibitors, effectively doubling
their ROI on the show, but also means visitors are likely to see a much broader range of innovations and ideas on the floor than might otherwise be possible,” Harper points out.
On that front, it’s still early days
– few exhibitors ever detail their
plans six months out, and this year
in particular, many are waiting on word about shipping arrangements and release dates for new technologies on their wish list. After speaking
to some of the show’s supporters in recent weeks, however, there are good indications that not only will the show be both broad and comprehensive,
but it will almost certainly include
a number of world firsts, given the show’s status as possibly the first in the post-pandemic era.
So far, the field of exhibitors is led by Currie Group with the show’s largest stand, closely followed
by Konica Minolta and Fujifilm Business Innovation. The show’s Platinum Sponsor, Roland DG, will be front and centre with its latest offerings, with Epson, Spicers, Europoles, HP, Konica Minolta, Starleaton, Multicam, Mimaki, Hexis, Aldus and Trotec also among those planning sizeable showcases.
Even just looking at this top tier, the diversity is clear, aided further by the co-location of the Visual Impact Expo which brings in more of the signage, display, wide-format,

to continue for some time, as we
see just how the economy recovers, particularly in areas like travel, tourism, hospitality, events and retail, and what flow-on effects this has for business.
“Events PacPrint, Visual Impact and the Label & Packaging Expo bring together what businesses need at this critical juncture, giving owners and decision makers the chance to review the impact of the past year in the context of our own industry in this region, to gather ideas about how best to rebuild
– either to regain lost ground in existing markets, or to adjust their approach to meet new market needs; and to reconnect with the people who can help by providing ideas, expertise and advice.”

Industry businesses, too, are keen to attend. Harper reports more
than 70 per cent of respondents to
a recent survey conducted by the organisers said they were intending to come to the show, with another 18 per cent considering attending.
“When you pull out the Victorian responses, the picture is even more positive, with 90 per cent saying yes, 7 per cent saying maybe, and only
3 per cent no,” he says. “Given that 70 per cent of our visitors typically come from the state in which the show is held, this gives us a good indication that attendee numbers are looking strong for September.”
Review, Rebuild, Reconnect
Of course, the past year has been challenging for businesses and, despite the positive broad economic outlook, there are more challenges to come, particularly in some sectors of the industry.
This is acknowledged in the show’s theme, Review, Rebuild, Reconnect, which straddles the line between acknowledging these challenges while reinforcing the opportunities in the post-pandemic environment.
“Industry businesses are already
in a constant state of reviewing
the impact of the pandemic on the market, and how that has specifically affected their customers and their own businesses,” Harper says.

“There’s absolutely no plausible scenario I can see where the show will not go ahead as planned, in fact, I believe it could potentially be the biggest and most important in PacPrint’s 50-plus year history.” — Peter Harper, Visual Connections
