SUPPORTING DEFENCE and NATIONAL SECURITY ASSETS in the NORTH
The Northern Territory defence industry has the capability and capacity to support a range of defence and national security assets.
The Territory is a trusted partner for maritime maintenance and sustainment, with a track record of delivering for the Australian Defence Force, Border Force and providing support to our Allies.
Territory industry will be a key enabler for the Royal Australian Navy’s Regional Maintenance Centre – North. Plan Galileo will be further supported by the Northern Territory Government’s investment in strategic infrastructure, which includes development of the Darwin Ship Lift and Marine Industry Park. This increased capability will service the current and future vessels home ported at HMAS Coonawarra, as well as visiting Australian Defence Force and Allied naval vessels.
The Northern Territory also stands ready to support the Australian Army’s future amphibious capability, providing unparalleled opportunities for littoral environment training, as well as the capacity to meet the maintenance and sustainment needs for the next generation of Army watercraft.
