Utilizing Fifty Years of Commercial Shipping Experience to Enable Success for our Customers
Teekay’s pedigree is rooted in half century of ship ownership and operation, looking after our people, customers, and assets.
We have developed some of the best in the industry risk management systems and processes to navigate the complex world of maritime
projects with certainty, and we call it Operational Excellence. Since 2003, we have used our commercial experience to earn the trust of the Department of Defence and Border Force. From asset management, to crewing, to delivery voyages, Teekay’s reliable expertise and innovative solutions help enable success for maritime Defence projects in Australia.
The DMSSP contract award in August 2021 marked a new chapter in Teekay’s strategic partnership
with the Defence. Through this and other contracts, Teekay is now responsible for in-service support of eight existing vessels.
With this level of customer trust comes great responsibility. From operating vessels with excellence, to supporting our customers across the full cycle of maritime acquisition and sustainment, and tailoring our platform to meet customer capability requirements – we take this responsibility seriously.
We approach our work with a “one team” mindset – working alongside Defence as an integrated team to deliver capability. We are guided by our SPIRIT values of Safety & Sustainability, Passion, Integrity, Reliability, Innovation, and Teamwork. For us, this is intuitive and these values extend to our work on Defence projects.
The future is bright for Teekay in Australia, and we are well positioned to add depth and scale to our core capabilities and continue meeting evolving customer requirements. We will continue to seek opportunities that add value to our customers and will do this by growing deeper ties and building effective partnerships in Australia.
