This cell is supporting affected SMEs to identify other opportunities that they have set themselves up for by increasing their competitiveness. The cell will use Defence’s resources to help the SMEs compete for future work in either the shipbuilding domain or in the wide array of other defence programs that the Morrison government is investing in. And, as I mentioned before, I believe the key enterprise we’ll try to help these businesses compete in is the $100 billion Sovereign Guided Weapons Enterprise, because outside of submarines this is the larg- est endeavour that Defence has ever undertaken. Clearly the opportunities for Australian SMEs in the Sovereign Guided Weapons Enterprise are going to be significant. Businesses can contact SME.support@defence.gov.au for further advice.
